Injury Prevention Week will take place this year as children across the country are either back, or preparing to head back to school.
Many children will make the journey to and from school by foot, although new research has established many parents are concerned about their children's level of road safety awareness.
Children aged 15 and under account for a quarter of pedestrian injuries and deaths on our roads, and we need parents to spend time explaining the principles of road safety to their children.
