Robert Goodwill has been voted in for a second term as Scarborough's MP.
The Conservative held off the challenge of Labour's Annajoy David and the Liberal Democrat's Tania Exley-Moore.
Mr Goodwill increased his vote substantially with his votes jumping from 19,000 to 21,000.
The Liberal Democrats also made big gains, almost pushing Labour into third place.
Mr Goodwill praised his team and said nationally it had been a vote for change.
