Scarborough MP Robert Goodwill has given his support to cyclist Henry Digby as he prepares to set off on a marathon ride in aid of Saint Catherine’s Hospice.
Starting tomorrow, Henry plans to cycle 265 miles from his home in Cayton to Westminster in London over two days to raise up to £5,000.
Transport minister Mr Goodwill wished him well and also offered some tips on how to cycle through central London to Westminster.
He said: “I’m delighted to support Henry and relieved he hasn’t asked me to join him in the ride. I think I would be flagging by the Humber Bridge!”
Henry, who runs Yorkshire Coast Mobile Cycle Repairs, is taking on the challenge to show his support for Saint Catherine’s, which has helped to care for his wife’s mum.
